Temperament and early maladaptive schemas as correlates of sexual satisfaction

Introduction: This paper presents the correlates of sexual satisfaction, i.e. early maladaptive schemas and personality factors. Aim: The aim present study was to identify which are associated with clarify role temperamental dimensions in determining its level. In other words, analyses significance human experience determinants for level satisfaction. Methods: group consisted 104 people aged 18 40 years who were recruited from general non-clinical population. Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire (Kwestionariusz Satysfakcji Seksualnej, KSS), Temperament Character Inventory (TCI) Young’s Schema 3, Short Form (YSQ-S3-PL), used analysis. Results: Of all variables, only Harm Avoidance found have a predictive value (β = −0.246; p 0.036): characterological variables that entered regression model account about 12% variability. Among schema domains analysed, Over-vigilance Inhibition Other Directedness values, together explaining 26% variability results −0.311, 0.006; β −0.247, 0.029). Conclusion: most significant satisfaction cognitive schemas, childhood experiences based on long-term one or several core needs, failure do so. contrast, factors, including character play slightly lesser role.
